Your Muscles are Piezoelectric
This is yet another reason why it’s so key that you exercise. Each and every one of your cells, besides their need for oxygen, water and the general building blocks they need that we call nutrition, they also need a constant supply of electricity. Yes, electricity. The same kind of electricity that runs through our walls and powers our smartphones, also powers our cells. Look it up, it’s fascinating. [Healing is Voltage by Dr. Jerry Tennant]
- There are certain physical things that drain your voltage; ie. pollutants, heavy metals, etc.
- And there are certain mind-body things that don’t allow your body’s natural battery packs to retain your voltage; ie. emotionally charged thought patterns.
I’ll share how to reduce / solve those…as I figure out how to do that for myself. For now, however, I want to focus on how do you increase your charge on a day-to-day basis. Because after all, you will need the voltage in you to have the stamina to figure out and make the changes you need to in order to eliminate what saps your energy.
Specifically, I want to focus on what appears to be our body’s biggest way of generating electricity. By movement, through our muscles. Apparently, our muscles are piezoelectric. Meaning that when they’re under pressure (ie. when they contract and expand), they transform that mechanical energy into electrical energy. That’s REALLY cool. And speaks directly to everyone’s experience of having more energy at their disposal right after a workout vs. right before it.
Because it’s not how much Potential energy you have in your body that matters. It’s how much of it has been converted and made accessible for you, today. This is a powerful reason why you should prioritize exercise. It’s a bio-electric key to having the energy to show up as the version of yourself you prefer to be.
