This is just my general belief about leadership as a whole, being applied to “leadership and war”, but on a more regular day-to-day basis, it applies just the same when it comes to how you lead your family, how you lead your business, teams — everywhere.
The idea is that:
1. Whatever Standard you Want from Others, You Should also Want it from Yourself,
2. and since you always have access first to yourself, then others, then you should require that standard first from yourself, then from others.
It’s the only way to be integrous, as far as I’m concerned — it’s the only way to be living as one whole. Otherwise, it is divisive by its nature. Ie. it becomes “you vs. me”, as opposed to: “you and me”.
When you hold yourself to the same standard that you hold others to, you’re playing a genuine cooperative game.
Peace is exclusively available in cooperative games.
